Happy Kwanzaa website was started in 1996 after the owner could not find any information online about Kwanzaa. She had been fielding questions about Kwanzaa from numerous people offline and decided to put together a complete information source about Kwanzaa, the 7 Principles and Karuma.

Since its inception, Happy Kwanzaa has been undergoing numerous additions and renovation in attempt to keep it fresh and interactive.
